FAQs
FAQs About goAML Services
What is the difference between an STR and a SAR?
An STR reports a suspicious transaction, completed or attempted. A SAR reports suspicious activity or behaviour where no specific transaction is involved.
Can I file goAML reports before completing goAML registration?
No. All reports are filed through your organisation's goAML account, so SACM registration and goAML portal setup must be completed first.
How quickly must a PNMR or CNMR be filed?
Under the EOCN's Targeted Financial Sanctions guidance, both must be submitted within five business days: a PNMR from the suspension, and a CNMR from freezing funds (which must happen within 24 hours) or rejecting the transaction.
Does a DPMSR or REAR mean the customer is suspicious?
No. They are mandatory reports based on value or payment method. If the same deal also raises suspicion, a separate STR or SAR is needed.
